An inflatable
powered boats race - a cup of "Power & Sail Boats" magazine
- was held on 8-th of July, in a harbor of St. Petersburg Fair Center.
The race, being usually a part of the St. Petersburg Boat Show, is
quite popular among marine leisure lovers (possible customers) and
marine professionals, from all over Russia. Both of them are interested
to evaluate features of different boats in the difficult race conditions.
The race
was held among inflatable boats with outboard motors in the following
classes:
- below 175 ρμ3
- below 250 ρμ3
- below 300 ρμ3
- below 400 ρμ3
- below 500 ρμ3
- over 500 ρμ3
Boats of almost
all trade marks, represented on the Russian market, participated in
the race. Outboard engines of all manufacturers were used.
Only serial
outboards were used, without any enforcement.
Most of
the participants were using RIB boats, specially prepared for the
race, fitted with the engine remote control. Our team, differently
from the most, was using regular YAMARAN™ boats with soft (disassembleable)
floor, equipped with YAMAHA engines with manual control. The latter
means that the boats we used for the race were exactly the same to
boats we deliver to customers all over Russia. A 10% time handicup
was used for boats with soft floor in the race.
Our YAMARAN team racers Alexander Smirnov and Andrey Geraschenko totally
win 1 first place, 3 second places and 1 third place in different
classes. All this wins leads to a second consequent year team victory,
awarded with the "Power & Sail Boats" cup. This victory,
being one in the honorable range, once again proved highest reputation
of YAMAHA outboard engines and YAMARAN™ boats - the best products
for marine work and leisure.

dealer of YAMAHA and YAMARAN™ in St. Petersburg.
